At Fern & Fir, every pair of earrings is handmade with care, using high-quality materials and thoughtful design. To ensure your jewelry lasts and stays beautiful, here’s how to properly care for each type.

Caring For Your Fern & Fir Jewelry

Polymer Clay Earrings

Our polymer clay earrings are molded by hand, custom color-mixed, and sometimes enhanced with gold foil, glitter, or painted accents. After shaping and curing, each piece is sanded, drilled, and assembled using high-quality findings.

Polymer clay is strong, but intricate designs require gentle handling.

Storage Tips:

Store in a dry place where they won’t be bumped or crushed.
Avoid placing heavy objects on top of them.
Keep them in the box they came in or hang them safely on a jewelry stand.
Cleaning Tips:

Avoid wearing while applying makeup, hairspray, or perfume.
If makeup gets on them, gently wipe with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol.
Avoid using alcohol on areas with foil or painted detail, as it may remove the finish.
Acrylic Earrings:

Our acrylic earrings are laser cut from high-quality acrylic sheets and finished by hand.

Care Tips:

Acrylic can scratch easily—use a soft cloth to clean.
Standard gentle household cleaners are safe to use.
Storage:

Keep in a dry place.
Hang or store them in a protective box when not being worn.

Brass Components:

Some styles include brass accents that may naturally tarnish over time. You can refresh them easily at home.

Cleaning Options:

Use a small amount of Brasso with a polishing cloth.
Or try a DIY method: rub ketchup onto the brass, let it sit briefly, rinse, and dry completely.
Silver Components:

Some styles include sterling silver that may naturally tarnish over time. You can refresh them easily at home.

Gently wipe with a polishing cloth.
Thank You

About the artist

Hey beautiful!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Crystal, the heart, hands, and slightly glitter covered leggings behind Fern & Fir- a one-woman show dedicated to turning humble polymer clay into bold, joyful jewelry that makes women feel unstoppable (and extremely cute).

What started as a creative escape has turned into a passion project with purpose: to design wearable art that celebrates individuality, confidence, and the beauty of imperfection. Every piece is handcrafted with love, laughter, and a playlist full of empowering anthems.

At Fern & Fir, we believe earrings can be tiny trophies, necklaces can be love notes to yourself, and color is a form of self-care. So whether you’re dressing up for a Zoom call or just need a pick-me-up with sparkle, I’ve got you covered..

I was born, raised, and still proudly call the Pacific Northwest home. Think towering trees, moody skies, beautiful mountains and endless inspiration. When I’m not baking up earrings in the studio, or working my “day-job” I’m hanging with my husband and our three very opinionated dogs—Ralph, Lily, and Sky (yes, they’re all on the payroll as morale officers).

Fern & Fir is about more than cute accessories—it’s about celebrating women, color, joy, and the little moments that make life magical. Every piece is handmade with love, intention, and the occasional snack break. Whether you’re dressing up for girls’ night or just need a little sparkle to survive the Monday blues, I’ve got your back (and your lobes).

Thanks for being here. Supporting handmade, women-owned small business means the world—and I think you’re pretty amazing for it!

Thanks for being a part of my story.

XO, Crystal
